Buffalo Bayou Cistern
The Buffalo Bayou Cistern is a former drinking water cistern that was built to serve the population of Houston in the 1920s. After its use was discontinued in 2007, the Buffalo Bayou Partnership was able to incorporate the site into the broader redevelopment of Buffalo Bayou. Today, the Cistern is open for tours and is used for art exhibitions. We were able to enjoy Carlos Cruz-Diez at the Cistern: Spatial Chromointerference, a light show with colors straight out of the 1960s.
