Dante's View
There are a lot of striking things about the Valley from this view.
First is how pervasive the salt flats are and how unique of a landscape they offer.
Second is just how much variation of in elevation there is in this one place. The low point of Badwater Basin is 282 feet below sea level, while the point you are on is 5,476 feet above sea level. On the other side of the Valley, you can see Telescope Peak, which is more than 6,000 feet above sea level. On a clear day, one can see Mount Whitney, the tallest point in the lower 48.
