Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge
While we did not see any of the ~50 endangered Attwater’s Prairie Chickens that make their home at the eponymous National Wildlife Refuge, we did encounter many other animals while seeing a remnant of the coastal prairie that once covered an area 75 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico.
