Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge
One of the first outings we took after moving to Houston was to Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge, about an hour south along the Texas coast. While we were prepared to enjoy being out of the city and to view some wildlife, we were not prepared for the massive amount of mosquitos that call the Refuge home.
A return trip several years later and in winter found the mosquitos still there, but less active. Thankfully there is a great auto tour that gets you out into the wetlands to see the wildlife!
