Sheldon Lake State Park is a former fish hatchery where nature has largely returned. It is home to a great number of alligators, migratory birds, and other wildlife who enjoy the wetlands.

Each of the individual fish ponds is now a unique environment, some filled with trees, others with lilies, etc.
