Sirmione & Lake Garda
Lake Garda is a scenic glacier-cut lake at the southern edge of the Dolomites and a short train ride from Venice.The area has long been a vacation spot and during the 1st Century BCE construction began on a massive Roman villa at the tip of the Sirmione peninsula. The entire site is about four and a half football fields. It is also home to Scaligero Castle, one of the best-preserved castles in Italy.
