Buenos Aires - Recoleta Cemetery
The city's first public cemetery was founded here in 1822 and over time it has developed into a small city of its own, with gates, streets, sidewalks and buildings. The cemetery here isn't rolling green fields marked by gravestones and tombs. Burial here is inside a mausoleum, and the wealthy families who were able to spend eternity at Recoleta spent no expense in crafting their final home.
